How we calculate material quantities
Our rule of thumb for standard 1-6mm aggregate blends laid at 18mm depth is that 1 tonne (40 x 25kg bags) will cover approximately 25 square metres.
If you increase the depth to 20mm for heavy traffic, coverage drops. If you decrease it to 15mm for a patio, coverage increases. The calculator adjusts for this automatically.
