How we build a resin driveway
The secret to a resin driveway that lasts 20 years isn't the resin — it's the groundworks beneath it. Learn exactly how we construct our driveways from the earth up.
Excavation & Groundworks
If we cannot overlay the existing surface, we use micro-diggers to excavate the area to a depth of roughly 200mm. All spoil is grabbed out and removed via grab lorries, keeping your property clean.
Sub-Base Construction
We lay a geotextile membrane to suppress weeds and prevent soil mixing, followed by 150mm of MOT Type 1 or Type 3 crushed stone. This is heavily compacted using a vibrating roller plate.

A solid edge constraint (brick, block, or metal bead) is installed. We then lay a porous tarmac binder course over the MOT base. This provides a flat, solid, yet permeable surface for the resin to adhere to.
Mixing & Trowelling
Once the base is cured and completely dry, we mix the UV-stable resin and aggregate in a forced action mixer. The mix is poured out and hand-trowelled to a smooth 18mm depth. Crushed glass is scattered over the curing surface for grip.
