Dropped Kerb Applications

If you are converting a front garden into a driveway for the first time, or widening your existing entrance, you will need to cross the public footway. This requires a dropped kerb (officially known as a vehicle crossover).

Surrey Highways Approval

You cannot simply hire a contractor to dig up the pavement. You must apply to Surrey County Council (or your local highways authority) for permission. They will assess visibility, safety, and whether there are any street trees or utility covers in the way.

Who does the work?

Once approved, the work must be carried out by a contractor who holds the specific Street Works accreditation required by the council. Our team handles the installation of the driveway itself, terminating neatly at the boundary line, ready to tie in with the council-approved dropped kerb.
