Silver Grey Resin Bound — Esher 1930s Semi-Detached

Silver Grey Resin Bound — Esher 1930s Semi-Detached

Replaced failing block paving on a 1930s Esher semi with 45m² of silver grey resin bound aggregate. The tree roots that had lifted the old blocks needed careful management.

The Challenge

A mature ornamental cherry along the left boundary had lifted several blocks and would almost certainly cause problems for a standard resin installation if not addressed.

The Solution

We cut back the most aggressive surface roots under the area to be paved, installed a root barrier along the boundary, and built a slight camber away from the tree. The 45m² area was then primed and finished in Silver Grey at 18mm depth.

The Result

A clean, even driveway that the homeowner says transformed the front of the house. The tree is undamaged and the root barrier gives the resin the best chance of lasting without disruption.

"The root problem had put off two other contractors. These guys had a proper solution rather than just hoping for the best."

— Homeowner, Esher
