Charcoal Resin Bound — Guildford Victorian Terrace

Charcoal Resin Bound — Guildford Victorian Terrace

A compact 28m² charcoal resin driveway replacing cracked tarmac at a Victorian terrace in Guildford. One day on site, and the tarmac base was sound enough to overlay directly.

The Challenge

Access was tight — a narrow entry between the house and a boundary wall — and the tarmac needed checking for soundness before we could decide on an overlay or full dig-out.

The Solution

The tarmac was structurally sound with only surface cracking, so we could overlay it directly after cleaning and priming. Charcoal Black at 18mm depth gave the homeowner the bold contrast they wanted against the white rendered facade.

The Result

A compact, sharp-edged driveway completed in a single day. The charcoal colour makes the white render really stand out.

"They checked the base properly before committing to an overlay. I'd had another quote that just assumed they could overlay without checking. That level of care made the difference."

— Homeowner, Guildford
