Resin Driveways Surrey

Weeds and Moss

A key selling point of resin bound surfacing is its weed resistance. But is it truly 100% weed-free?

No Roots from Below

Because the resin forms a solid, rigid layer over a compacted sub-base, weeds cannot grow up from the soil beneath your driveway. The days of dandelions pushing up through block paving joints are over.

Surface Seedlings

However, if dirt and soil are allowed to accumulate on the surface of the resin, wind-blown seeds can settle in the dirt and sprout. These seedlings have very shallow roots that only grip the dirt, not the resin itself.

They can usually be removed effortlessly with a stiff broom. If a patch of moss develops in a damp, shady corner, a standard patio weedkiller (test on a small hidden area first) will kill it without harming the resin.
