Resin vs Imprinted Concrete

Pattern imprinted concrete (PIC) mimics the look of cobbles or brick, but it has several drawbacks compared to resin.

Permeability: PIC is completely impermeable. Resin is fully porous and SUDS compliant.

Maintenance: PIC requires regular resealing to maintain its colour and prevent the surface wearing away to grey concrete. Resin uses natural stone — the colour runs all the way through.

Cracking: When PIC cracks (and all concrete eventually cracks), repairing a patterned surface is nearly impossible without it looking like a patch. Resin is much easier to repair discretely.
