How to measure your driveway
You don't need millimeter precision at this stage. A simple tape measure, or even pacing it out, is enough to get a baseline area.
For a standard rectangular drive:
- Measure straight down the longest edge (from the pavement to the house).
- Measure across the widest point (from fence to fence).
- Input these into the Rectangle tab.
For an L-shaped or extended drive:
- Break the space down into two separate rectangular blocks in your mind.
- Measure the length and width of the main block.
- Measure the length and width of the side block.
- Input these into the L-Shape tab, and the tool will combine the areas.
What if my driveway is curved or heavily angled?
Resin is fantastic for curved spaces because it flows to fill any shape without needing to be cut like block paving. To estimate a curved area, measure the widest width and the longest length as if it were a rectangle. This will slightly overestimate the area, but it gives you a safe upper limit for pricing.
