Cost Per Square Metre Explained

The standard industry metric for pricing a resin driveway is the cost per square metre (m²). In Surrey for 2025, this ranges from £60 to £150 per m².

This wide range is necessary because the term covers everything from a simple overlay on existing tarmac, to a complex full excavation requiring retaining walls and soakaways.

The £60 - £85 Bracket (The Overlay)

If you have an existing driveway made of monolithic tarmac or concrete that is crack-free, level, and drains well, we can often clean it, apply a polymer primer, and lay the resin directly on top. Because this skips the heavy machinery, skip hire, and base materials, the cost per square metre remains low.

The £100 - £150 Bracket (Full Excavation)

If your driveway is currently block paving, grass, gravel, or failing tarmac, we must dig it out completely. The cost includes the digger, grab lorries to remove the spoil, tonnes of MOT Type 1 crushed stone, a porous tarmac binder course, and finally the resin. This is the most common scenario for domestic installations.
